Privacy Policy

Last updated: 08.01.2026

bama brooklyn ("bama brooklyn," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent design studio. This policy

explains what information we collect through bamabrooklyn.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, and

what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain English, because a privacy policy nobody canread is not much of a policy

If you have questions after reading it, email us at adminbamabrooklyn@gmail.com

The Short Version

• We collect the information you hand us — mostly your name, email, and whatever you tell us about your project.

• We collect basic technical and analytics data automatically when you visit, the way nearly every website does.

• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

• We use a small number of third-party services to run the Site and our business, and they handle some of this data on our behalf.

• You can ask us what we have on you, ask us to delete it, or ask us to correct it. Just email us.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you fill out a form on the Site, book a call with us, email us, or subscribe to something, you may give us:

• Your name

• Your email address

• Your company or brand name

• Your phone number, if you choose to share it

• Details about your project, timeline, and budget

• Anything else you decide to write in a message field

We only ask for what we need to answer you and figure out whether we are a good fit for each other.

Please do not send us sensitive personal information — health data, government ID numbers, financial

account numbers — through a web form. We do not need it.

Information we Collect Automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting platform and analytics tools automatically collect standard technical information, including:

• Your IP address and general location (city or region level)

• Browser type, device type, and operating system

• Pages you visited, how long you stayed, and what you clicked

• The site or search that referred you to us

• Date and time of your visit

This is aggregate housekeeping data. We use it to understand which work resonates and to keep the Site running properly, not to build a profile of you.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses cookies — small files stored in your browser. Some are strictly necessary to make the Site

function (remembering your session, keeping a shopping cart intact, security). Others are analytics cookies that help us count visits and understand traffic patterns.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you block the strictly necessaryones, parts of the Site may stop working correctly.

Do Not Track: Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is still no common industry standard for how sites should respond, so the Site does not currently respond to those signals.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiry and talk with you about a potential project

• Prepare proposals, estimates, and contracts

• Deliver work, invoice you, and manage the client relationship

• Send you emails you asked to receive, and let you unsubscribe from them

• Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site

• Understand which pages and case studies people actually look at

• Comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

• Protect our rights and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significanteffects about you.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We never have and we have no plans to.

We share information only in these situations:

• Service providers. Companies that help us run the Site and our business — website hosting, email, scheduling, analytics, payment processing, cloud storage, and accounting. They may access your information only to perform those services for us.

• Collaborators: We are a small studio and sometimes bring in trusted freelancers or contractors on a project. When we do, they get only what they need to do the work, and they are bound to keep it confidential.

• Legal requirements: If we are required to by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or if we need to protect the rights, safety, or property of bama brooklyn or others.

• Business transfer: If the studio is ever sold, merged, or reorganized, your information may transfer as part of that deal. You would remain covered by a policy at least as protective as this one.

• With your permission. Any other sharing happens only if you tell us it is okay.

Service Providers We Currently Use

For transparency, here are the main third parties that may process data from the Site. Each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with that data.

• Squarespace — website hosting, forms, and built-in analytics

• Calendly — scheduling calls with us

• Gmail — email and correspondence

• Flodesk — newsletter platform

Your Work and Your Confidential Information

Client materials are a separate matter from Site visitor data, and we treat them accordingly. Anythingyou share with us during a project — briefs, unreleased product information, strategy documents, customer data — stays confidential and is governed by our engagement agreement with you, not by this policy.

We may show work we have completed in our portfolio, in case studies, and in pitches. If a project is under NDA or you would rather we keep it private, tell us and we will keep it out of public view.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as we have a reason to:

• Inquiries that do not become projects: up to [24] months, in case you come back

• Client records, contracts, and invoices: as long as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes

— typically [7] years

• Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe

• Analytics data: as retained by our analytics provider under its standard settings

When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.

How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections on the Site, access controls, and reputable vendors. That said, no method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

Your Choices and Rights

Wherever you live, you can:

• Ask us what personal information we hold about you

• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong

• Ask us to delete it

• Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, or by emailing us

• Adjust or block cookies in your browser

To make a request, email [EMAIL] with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will respond within 45days. We may need to verify your identity before acting — usually by confirming you control the email address associated with the information.

If you live in California

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives California residents specific rights. You have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you, where we got it, why we collected

it, and who we shared it with

• Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions

• Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you

• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information

• Limit the use of sensitive personal information

• Non-discrimination — we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a

lower quality of service for exercising any of these rights

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. We also do not collect sensitive personal information as the CCPA defines it.

In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address), commercial information (services inquired about or purchased), and internet or other electronic network activity (browsing and interaction data on the Site). We collect these from you directly and automatically through the Site, and we disclose them for business purposes to the service providers listed above.

You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will ask for proof of their authorization and may still ask you to verify your identity directly.

If you live in another U.S. state

Several other states have passed comprehensive privacy laws. Where those laws apply to us, we extend the same core rights described above — access, correction, deletion, and portability — to residents of those states. Email us and we will handle your request.

Children

The Site is meant for a professional audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our Site links out to client work, our scheduling tool, and other places on the internet. Once you leave bamabrooklyn.com, this policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to, so it is worth reading their policies too.

Visitors outside the United States

We operate from the United States, and any information you send us is processed and stored here. Privacy laws in the U.S. may differ from those in your country. By using the Site or contacting us, you understand that your information will be handled in the United States under this policy.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this policy when our practices change or the law requires it. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. If the change is significant, we will make a point of flagging it on the Site. Please check back now and then.
